It’s March again and you know what that means, it’s also ‘March Madness’ again!

I don’t know about other sport fans out there, but with the football season a done deal and baseball is still over a month away from starting and neither the LA Lakers or Clippers have really given us much to cheer about, I can’t wait until ‘March Madness’ begins.

2017 conference tournament for the PAC_12 is scheduled to run from March 8th to the 11th.
The 2017 Men’s NCAA March Madness Tournament Bracket matchups will be announced on Sunday, March 12th between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 P.M. EST. And this is just the beginning.
Just a few days later on Tuesday, March 14th, the Play-in games will start with the actual
‘March Madness 2017’ tournament starting on Thursday, March 17th .
The 2017 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament will involve 68 teams playing in a single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of men’s NCAA Division I college basketball.
It is scheduled to begin on March 14, 2017, and will conclude with the championship game on April 3 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The championship game will be the first contested in a Western state since 1995 when Seattle, Washington was the host of the Final Four for that year.
The pace is fast with 68 teams that start. Then we move on to 32 games played in just the span of a few days, then a couple of days off and then round two will start with 16 games. This keeps going until there are only two teams left.
Over the past several years the March Madness craze has jumped clear off the charts.
However, is this due to the love of college basketball by the American sports fan or is it due to the love of gambling by the new sports fan?
Almost as many sport fans participate in ‘Bracketology’ of college basketball as sport fans who participate in Fantasy Football.
The average sports fan will join one of the several thousand groups that will download their favorite teams on their so called Brackets. The term that is used by these sports fans is ‘bracketology’ this term covers the filling out of a person’s individual bracket and summiting it to one of the several sites that will keep track of your wins and losses.

With the introduction of ‘Bracketology’ came the increase in the attention being paid to these games and even more so came the huge increase in the TV viewing of these college games.

Although it has gained pop it is not even close to what the ‘Super Bowl’ gets, but considering its only college basketball, it is amazing how many people actually watch each and every game. It’s been call ‘a yearly phenomenon with NCAA schools and sports’.

One of the reasons ‘March Madness has gained in popularity is that is it so much fun picking the teams that will win each and every round.
Sports fan will be wondering if our new president will be participating as did our past president, Mr. Obama. With each win you pick up a few points and eventfully you either win or lose with the Championship game.

Even if you are not a fan of actually sitting down and filling out a bracket, you still can enjoy the
games for what they truly are, and that is a game in which players, who are just college students not even being pay for all their hard work, will play their hearts out for their school.
Only a very small percentage of these players will ever get drafted into the NBA and yet they play and take the losses personally. It’s basketball at its purest and best!
