Lets Talk Sports Feb. 2019
Lets Talk Sports Feb. 2019, Baseball , Hockey, College and Pro Basketball
Yes, there is sports after football. After the Super Bowl, some sports fans will be asking ‘now what’.
Well, there is always Baseball season, which is just a few weeks away. Pre-season for the Dodgers start February 13 with just the pitchers and catchers reporting in and the rest of the Dodgers will report in February 19.
The first actual pre-season game is schedule for February 23, with the Dodgers playing the Chicago White Sox. However, the first time the Dodgers will be playing the Los Angeles Angels with be Sunday February 23 at Camelback Ranch – Glendale in Phoenix Arizona
Mark your calendar, The Dodgers ‘Home Opening’ game will be March 28 against the Arizona D-Backs.
Besides Baseball and Football, there is also Hockey; we have two southern California teams, the LA Kings and the Ducks of Anaheim. Hopefully, since football is done until August and baseball doesn’t get serious until late March, this would be a great time to get reacquainted with the game of Hockey.
At the time I was writing this, the Ducks are in fifth place and the Kings are in last place in the Western Division. The games are not easy to find on TV, and hopefully the games will be easier to locate as there is less competition on the local TV channels.

For the Sport fans that may not be into Hockey, there is always Basketball, and again we have two local teams. If you are not a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, there is always the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Lakers right now are in 3rd place and the Clippers are in 2rd place in the Western Division. The Lakers should start to improve their standing as several players are coming off the injury list, including, King James.
I have saved the best for last when it comes to February and March, that is, after the Super Bowl, and that would be March Madness.
The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament begins Tuesday, March 19, 2019, and ends Monday, April 8, 2019, but the hype will starts around mid-February. Since the introduction of Bracketology, March Madness has taking on a life of its own. cbssports.com/college-basketball/bracketology/
Over the next few weeks, thousands of sports fans from all over the US and even the world will be downloading their brackets to join in the fun of picking who will end up winning the whole thing come Mid-April.

Hopefully Southern California will be fully represented; in fact Gonzaga is within reach of knocking Kansas out of the number one seed. In the Pac 12 Division Washington will be a shoe in to make the tournament, however, UCLA still need to improve its standing and USC is in trouble
